Lucas Gurdjian, food photographer and filmmaker in Bordeaux

I am a photographer, filmmaker and art director with more than twenty years of experience, creating imagery for chefs, restaurants, hotels and brands.

Specialised in food and hospitality photography, I also photograph the portraits, teams, products and spaces that shape a house’s identity.

Based in Bordeaux, I work throughout Nouvelle-Aquitaine and France, as well as internationally. My approach combines precise lighting, attention to detail and a complete understanding of each project.

From art direction to photography

After studying applied arts, typography and lettering in Paris, I began my career as an art director at Euro RSCG, now BETC. This background still informs my composition, colour and the coherence of every photographic series.

Fifteen years in Asia

I spent fifteen years in Asia, primarily in Shanghai and Chiang Mai. In Shanghai, I founded Warehouse Studio, bringing together photography, film, graphic design and art direction for chefs, restaurants and hotels across Asia and the Middle East.

Paul Pairet’s photographer since 2008

I have worked with chef Paul Pairet since 2008, documenting his cuisine, restaurants and creative universe, including Ultraviolet and Mr & Mrs Bund in Shanghai.

Food photographer based in Bordeaux

Since 2020, I have been based in Bordeaux, where I co-founded L’Atelier Bleu Boucan with Olivia Gurdjian. In 2024, I photographed Voyage, Nicolas Isnard et David Le Comte à l’Auberge de la Charme, written by Nicolas Isnard and Olivia Gurdjian and published by Glénat.
